The war in Iraq is being waged outside the purview of the United Nations, the only keeper of International Law. I f powerful nations like the US and her allies become laws unto themselve, then thw world is only a short step away from disaster.

"...the only keeper of International Law.
Come on. When has their influence ever reigned in those who wished to do harm? When has it ever stopped people like Saddam Hussein. It hasn't. So if the law is only there for people who are going to obey it anyway, and no one else has to abide by it, what is the use in it?
The UN is a club for wealthy states to haggle with one another and try and gain leverage over their "allies". It has no inherent authority, and has never done much of anything to stifle any wrongs in the world. On the contrary, it has spent a lot of time coddling and appeasing evil people.
So, the US should be the muscle for the UN, and only speak when spoken to? Not hardly. If we are to be the bully for everyone else's interests, then I think we have the right to seek our own. God knows that if we were ever in dire need, the UN would have *zero* ability to come to our aid.
P.S. I suggest you delete the other two versions of this article. No point in spamming the board. Sometimes when things lag and you hit the button more than once you accidently post several copies of the same article.

I have to speak for I am american and yet I see the same thing you see. The united nations says no and the usa pushes through someones home land killing innocent children and women. IF we were in there just for saddam then why are our troops having to stay there for up to 5 years. why is it that women are being imprisoned. The thing that our government for gets to mention. Bush believes everyone no matter what religion you are if you are believe in islam or muslim religion you should be locked up for terrorism no matter where you live. For not all muslims and Islamic people are like those who distroyed thousands of peoples lives nor did they distroy our towers. One person does something wrong does this mean we brand a whole race do to what they had no control of. There are some people who believe different then what our president makes our troops do. For he is as much dictator as saddam. Tho Bush has not literally killed his family like saddam but he cheated to get to the white house.
Where was Bush when his generation was fighting the war but hiding under his daddy's money and failing college. And do other unmentionable things. And yet by letting astrology and numerology take our roles. Bush is 666 all the way. Also why is it we start a war with Iraq. Then we have to start a war with north korea. And then North korea has to start a fight with japan. and how about Russia. Please tell me who is going to get blown out of the water next. For someday it may be the united states and we may be feeling that we should have stayed out of country affairs. For who knows if we will have an allie to back us up when the time comes for they maybe all against us in the end.
Just my two cents.

I'm not gonna waste my time arguing the ignorant garbage in mojomom's post. Like I always say, if something wasn't reasoned into someone, you can't reason it out. It's very sad how susceptable people are to hateful propaganda.

---would you rather the person not be jailed and have HIM/HER comeback and kick our ass, like on 9-11?

The war in Iraq is being waged outside the purview of the United Nations, the only keeper of International Law.
Several countries come to mind that dissprove that statement:
Mainland China (they won't give up Tibet and now want to take control of a Democratic Chinese Government, Taiwan), Iran (not the Democracy seeking youth and other individuals just the mullahs and the regime heads), North Korea, Sudan (Come on seriously, the UN loses all credibility when they put Sudan back onto the Huminatarian Council just like they whole Balkan affair), Rwanda, etc.
Only keeper of International Lawbreakers is more like it, right?
