Ms Terri Schaivo is no more. Early yesterday she died in Florida and in death she has achieved an iconic status that will live for a long long time. I admire her parents whi faught valiantly to keep her alive. The American Personal Law that allows the husband to take extremely important decisions relating to the life and death of the spouse needs to be reassesses as parents too have responibilities. The case was almost entirely the work of her husband Micheal who seems to have been quite cavalier in his attitude towards his incapacitated wife. There are credible reports that he had sterong moyives for having her declared dead so that he could strat life anew. Then there is also the matter of the insurance. All these facts were not properly brought to the eyes of the public. Michael appeared as if he was solely interested in Terri and anyone not agreeing with him belonged to the loony fringe of the "Christain Right". This was the wrong projection.
Michael Shaivo has shown himself to be faithless and graceless in the manner in which he krpt Terri's parents out of the Death watch.
