Bolton must bolt if Bush is to live politically
Published on June 23, 2005 By Bahu Virupaksha In Politics
The Bolton nomination has once again got stuck in the Senate. By putting the entire weight of his political office behind him in the struggle to make Bolton his man at the UN, Bush has lost out politically. Seldom does a re-elected President lose ground politically so swiftly as did George Bush II. Bus and his neo conmen think that their narrow agenda will ispire the American people. Unfortunately they have seen through the game and are not responding. The War in Iraq is going very badly and there is no exit sttratregy still in place. The war in Afghanistan is slowly, but surely heating up. After lying low for nearly two years the Taliban is showing every sign of regathering its strength. The hunt for Bin Laden is going nowhere and Al Qeda is stronger than it ever was in the past. The patriot Act has eroded civil liberies in the USA and now the Big Brother even wants to monitor what you are reading. The FBI is trailing those taking more than a passing interest in West Asian culture and politics.

The men responsible for this sorry state of affairs do not seem to realise that the game of politics is based on more than mere rhetoric and grandstanding speeches. It is now emerging the even George Bush knew that the Iraqis lacked the weapons of Mass Destruction and that Bush and Blair together conspired to fool their people and take their nations to war over nothing.

Things are not better and they have gotten MUCH worse over the past 4 1/2 years. Add to my list of realities, To ingore the price of gas and oil. Basic economics is that you can not continually spend more then your income. Bush did learn that one.

--COL, again, high school economics tells you that the economy, any economy goes through a cycle of recessions,depressions,etc....

What he's saying since your to thick to get it is. It's ALL part of the cyclic nature of economics! Your whining about it will change nothing. Eventually it'll get better all by itself. Without your help or hinderance.

Col has no other reasons or explanations other than "blame Bush. His only sources are the deficit. He totally ignores all the progrss the economy has made. He accepts no other reasons except somehow it's the fault of Bush. Pathetic.

This blog was put up nearly a year ago. Now with Bush ratings coming down to 32% it reads so prohetic today. The American public have finally realised that Bush gave them onl;y war crony administration and a highly insensitive response to all important issues like immigration reform and social security. In November they will give a fitting response. TEACH BUSH AND THE BUSHMEN A LESSON.

You don't get it do you? Want to try again? In November nobody is teaching Bush anything! He's not up for re-election. The representatives and senators are. Bush's numbers have NOTHING to do with the others! And just an FYI....the GOP is "gaining" ground, not losing it. So in this particular case your opinion doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot since it's misinformed!

His poll ratings are in large part a cyclical tradition in American politics (the longer in office, the more things to nitpick), and entirely predictable so don't expect some whoop-de-do prize or anything.

We have a tradition in America, at least since Watergate, of the media doing everything it can to wound the administration in power, the assumption being that corruption & evil are present, simply waiting to be unmasked (the road to the Pulitzer, after all). We've now had nearly 6 years of that drumbeat, to which some actual issues have been added (as occur in every administration), and the media now have the public where they want them, at least in terms of the answers they are looking for in polls designed to demonstrate how "unhappy" we are with Bush.

When Republicans gained in the second mid-term elections of Democrat administrations, it was written off & minimized by the media as just "expected" and no big deal, certainly not because of any true failings of the administration, just "politics." If the Democrats gain in this year's elections, and they probably will, it will be played up as something historic and a referendum on Bush & Iraq & every other pet issue of the left, because that's the way they want to play it.

And I'm sure that's the way you'll play it, Bahu. There's my prediction. Come back to this thread mid-November, after your first couple of post-election blogs, & see how "prophetic" it is.

Please ignore #113 - the dreaded "server timeout" struck again, after which I made a couple of edits. Sorry.

Just as I said over a year ago, Bush has lost ground and he is trying to retrieve himself [politically by just running away with the Democrat agenda like minimum wage, social security and immigation.

I really don't like to say this....but by this time I don't think you have a clue about American politics. And since you do not live in the USA and experience it from day to day, I don't believe you'll ever get one.
