Iraqi Militants are using deadly weapons

In a recent hearing before the House Committee on the Armed Forces, the Secretary for Defence turned away from answering a direct question from Senator Byrd:he only said that it is not possible to set a time table to end the War in Iraq. This is ofcourse pentagon speak for a long long indefinite haul. The political support for this long a war is just not there and the American people have already started asking whether the war was worth the candle. What the Secretary did not mention but came out from the testimony of General Abizaid that the war was proving intractable.

The fact of the matter is that is the the Resistance in Iraq is getting better organises and groups that were operating on their own are now pooling in their resources and "expertise". The folly of Paul Bremmer in leaving the Army dumps unguarded during the early days of the collapse of the Baathist regime has come back to haunt the coalition forces. Weapons lifted from Iraqi military dumps are now being redesigned to suit the need of tdesert and urban warfare. For example, the Us military has upgraded the level of steel protection in its troop carriers called Humvees. However, last week on the desert track outside of Bagdad a Humvee was blown up and all that remained were twisted metal. The Resistance has begun modifying conventional military explosives to make targetted and intense expolsions capable of penetrating the 9' steel plating of the humvees. This is a newe tacticand if deployed effectively will restrict the movement of troops.

A new phase is starting to emerge in this war and with then political support waning may be the end is in sight.

He didn't answer because "KKK" Byrd should have known better than to ask such a DUMB question in the first place! It has been said time and time again. But I'll say it ONCE more. You do NOT hand your enemy a time table on your pull out! That just tells him how long he has to sit back and wait for his objective to come to him.
