This blog explores the contemporary political and cultural trends from a distinct perspective
The New from Bagdad is now getting murkier. The British Troops have raided a prison in Bagdad to rescue their own soldiers who had been imprisoned there. We are given to understand that thye Government in Bagadad, a Quisling Government, is operating directly under the control and command of the Coalition forces. Not a single decision is taken without the allied commenders being taken into confidence. This being the case how did the British soldiers get trapped by the Iraqi Security forces. Why were the Coalition Command structure not notified? Not only that, what authority does the British Army have to raid a Prison under the charge og the Iraqi government. The most important question: How were the soldiers captured in the first palce.

These questions have not been answered in spite of the fact that the Irqi militia seems to have ambushed the attaking British troops. In Western Bagdad on the same day % US marines were killed and 4 private security guards also died in the attack in Mosul. Rumsfield is bent on privatising the War and this is against the Geneva Convention which state that the security of the occupied territories is the responsibility of the invading forces i.e legitimate armed forces.

The Irqi constitution has opened up a whole new set of problems and the Government in "power" is unable to cope.

If you say we are losing in Iraq, you are a pathetic liar and a total fool.

You are ridiculously uninformed; it's not even funny.

First, that happened in Basra, not Baghdad.

The Iraqi police should have notified the British according to Iraqi law. Iraqi law also says that the prisoners should have been handed over to coalition troops (instead of a local Iraqi militia).

That's why the British had the authority to raid the prison. The police in the prison violated Iraqi law. That you didn't know that shows that you paid little attention to the actual reports of the incidents.

I assume you read a headline somewhere. And nothing else.

How the soldiers were captured has also been reported.

And how would being ambushed by an Iraqi militia make answers more likely, as you seem to imply?

BTW the news are not "getting murkier". This incident has been so widely reported, it's actually quite hard to miss the details.

But you somehow managed. How do you do it?

(Where do you get your news? Or rather where do you tend not to get your news and then think you got the news?)
