Questions about the Iraq War
November 2004. Anyone questioning the wisdom of Bus and the Bushmen rampage in Iraq was wildly hooted, reviled and even their patriotism questioned. November 2005. The Bushmen are on the run, as there are serious questions being asked about the conduct of the war and the sacrifices ordinary law abiding men and women of the USA are being called upon to make. Even in the Bibkle belt voices are being heard questioning Bush decision to go to war. Conservative congressmen are stridently asking for a pull out paln and an exit strategy. Bush is unable to deliver on those demands. Cindy Sheehan has become the public face of the anti war movemnnt and the pain of Titus Brandon's father was all too palpable. Now what does the American political leadership do in the face of so much grief and public outcry. Of course, one may say that the public outcry has not reached the level it had during the Vietnam War. But it is certainly gathering strength by the day.
American attak on Iraq has not helped the enemies of reedom to find a new and more potent cause to rally for. Al Qaeda has emerged stronger after the attack on Iraq. Earlier this brutal organization was confined to Afghanistan and parts of Sudan and Egypt. Now it has cells everywhere and has no problem in recruiting youn Moslem men and women for deadly terror attacks. The wanton destruction of Fallujah last October gave an immense fillip to the morale of the Al Qaerda and in spite of effots made to seal the border with Syria recruits are pouring in by the tens every day.
It is time to bid Good Bye to Iraq and call the Troops home for Christmas.
